On 12 December 2021, the Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) organised a book launch for their new picture book. “Santa’s Red Headscarf”, written by Dr. Cheng Wan-Ni is a new title under their Christmas picture book series. The book launch was held at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. At the launch, Ms Nur Ashikin from Kinderland’s Curriculum Department, together with Ms Guo Jing (Chinese Teacher) presented the “Santa’s Red Headscarf”, a warm and light-hearted story, to the children from Kinderland Preschool @ Woodlands Mart and other audiences.

——馨乐园参与新加坡华文教研中心的圣诞系列绘本新书发布会

2021年12月12日，新加坡华文教研中心（Singapore Centre for Chinese Language）在新加坡华族文化中心举办了《圣诞老人的红头巾》绘本发布会。馨乐园课程部的Ms Nur Ashikin、兀兰坊（Woodlands Mart）馨乐园的郭敬老师和小朋友们，在现场为大家分别以英语、华语呈现了温馨有趣的《圣诞老人的红头巾》说故事活动。（8视界新闻网 相关报道）

Ms Nur Ashikin from Kinderland’s Curriculum Department narrated the story in English, giving the storyline a sense of enchantment.

The story tapped on the angle of Santa’s visit to Singapore and his adventure with a Samsui grandma. Through the story, children learn about Samsui women, through its simple language and heartwarming storyline. The book also highlighted the admirable qualities and various contributions made by the Samsui women during the building of early Singapore.

《圣诞老人的红头巾》通过幼儿喜爱的圣诞老人在新加坡和红头巾三水阿嫲相遇的奇妙故事，用简单生动的语言，温馨又有童趣的情节，帮助幼儿了解红头巾的历史和生活面貌，以及她们对新加坡早期建设所作出的贡献，传承红头巾坚韧不拔、吃苦耐劳的精神。

This is Kinderland’s second participation in SCCL’s Christmas picture book series’ launch, a series that encompasses Singapore’s culture. Kinderland first participated in 2019, during the launch of the first book titled “Where’s the Chimney?” During the first session, Ms Nur Ashikin presented the story with Ms Tng Bee Tin (Chinese Teacher) and the children from Kinderland Preschool @ Hougang.

Through this partnership with SCCL, we hold firm to our belief in enriching the children’s lives. This partnership also gave the children the opportunity to enjoy learning English and Chinese and learn about Singapore history and local culture. We want our children to become lifelong readers and learners who are rooted in Singapore and possess a strong sense of self-identity.

这是馨乐园第二次参与新加坡华文教研中心以本地文化特色为主的圣诞系列绘本新书发布会，上一次是在2019年参与了此系列第一本绘本《烟囱在哪里呀？》（英文版和华文版）的发布会，Ms Nur Ashikin和后港馨乐园的汤美珍老师和小朋友进行了故事表演（联合早报 相关报道）。

馨乐园致力于培养幼儿成为终生学习者。通过参加与新加坡华文教研中心这样的合作，不但能够丰富幼儿的早期阅读经验，培养幼儿的阅读兴趣和能力，也让幼儿在快乐中学习华文和英文，认识本地文化和历史，帮助幼儿将来成长为根植新加坡、获得牢固自我身份认同的终生阅读爱好者和学习者。
