Kinderland’s Time-Tested Curriculum

Kinderland’s music-infused curriculum is built around the K.I.N.D.E.R. multidisciplinary lands. The Kinderland curriculum focuses on the cognitive, communication and language, physical, social and emotional developmental domains in a child’s early years. It is aligned to the developmental domains identified in the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) by the Early Childhood Developmental Agency (ECDA) and the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) framework by Singapore Ministry of Education. A bilingual preschool and infant care, we offer English and Chinese across all our network with English and Japanese classes in Marine Parade and Pandan Valley.

Children’s Music Programme

Instrumental music, taught by Music Specialist, unlocks new areas in your child’s cognitive growth. It is a key component in Kinderland’s music-infused curriculum. Instrumental musical training develops the part of the brain that controls visual-spatial skills, vital for learning maths and science. It sharpens memory and improves verbal intelligence and literacy. Research has shown that formal music education helps to promote children’s brain development.

Beyond classroom learning, Kinderland is the first and only preschool in Singapore with a marching band and stage ensemble. Kinderland Marching Band is available at Kinderland Academy @ Yio Chu Kang and Kinderland Preschool @ Marine Parade. Our experienced performers from the marching band and stage ensemble had put up countless performances for dignitaries in occasions like Early Childhood Conference 2019, Octoburst! 2019 & 2022 – A Children’s Festival by Esplanade and President’s Night Challenge 2025 organised by MediaCorp.

Literacy, Phonics & Reading Programme

Literacy Through I.T. is a comprehensive computer-based, multi-sensory instructional system designed to help the child learns to write even before learning to read. Developed by American educator Dr John Henry Martin, it is structured based on the phonemic principle. Kinderland was the first kindergarten in Singapore to implement computer-aided learning to enhance literacy and creative writing skills for pre-schoolers, setting up its first Literacy Through I.T. Laboratory in 1987.

Through our programme, children will learn:

  • to recognise words
  • matching alphabets to form words using games and interactive resources
  • writing out alphabets to construct words and sentences.

KinderFit Cardio-Fitness Programme

KinderFit is a fitness cum cardio wellness programme for children. It incorporates games and exercises to develop their confidence and ability to control their body movements. Through KinderFit, they also learn to measure their heartbeat and are educated on proper eating habits and lifestyle.

S.T.R.E.A.M. (Available at selected centres)

In S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Reading & wRiting, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), children are engaged in exploration and effective learning through inquiry-based project work. From idea conceptualisation, research, creation of prototypes to construction of actual structures, children are actively involved to lead and problem-solve their own queries. Coding is incorporated into selected S.T.R.E.A.M. projects.

Coding Programme

An essential 21st-century skill, coding helps prepare our young children for this technology-reliant era. Coding supports children learning, helping them be effective communicators. It also builds children’s computational thinking, patterning ability, critical thinking and reasoning skills while encouraging innovation and creativity. All to nurture our children to become confident and independent future-ready learners.

Character Building A-Z

In Kinderland, children are taught to care for themselves, the community and the environment. Through community initiatives and collaborations with the Lions Befrienders, Singapore Red Cross and other charity organisations, we cultivate the habit of giving through everyday acts of care and empathy. Through EQland, Character Building A-Z programme, we nurture the caring Kinderland child to be curious, socially responsible, mindful, and have a growth mindset.

Beyond the basics

Food

We believe in stronger body, stronger mind for learning. Kinderland’s certified in-house nutritionist plans our menu according to the Healthy Meals in Pre-schools Programme. In line with Health Promotion Board’s guidelines, we ensure our children absorb the necessary nutrients for healthy growth and build a strong immunity.

Safety

Not only are our teachers professionally trained to handle infants and young children, they are also trained in child first aid. You can rest assured that your child will be in safe hands.

Hygiene and Cleanliness

Our preschools maintain stringent safe management measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. We sanitise our premises regularly throughout the day. Our centres are equipped with the latest air steriliser, effective against 99.9% coronavirus and other viruses. These are in addition to our centres’ existing air purifier and use of UV sanitisation light, all for your greater peace of mind.
