This year, Kinderland ignited the spirit of Earth Day with a range of engaging educational activities designed to instil in our children a sense of environmental stewardship. It allows them to embrace a deeper appreciation for our shared responsibility in safeguarding our precious planet.

Children engaged in a plethora of hands-on experiences, from planting soy seeds and green beans to creating innovative masterpieces using recycled materials. The children were fully engaged in activities that fostered their creativity and environmental consciousness. They also had opportunities to express themselves artistically through painting and drawing, deepening their connection to the environment and the importance of preserving it. In addition, the children were captivated by inspiring stories that emphasised the significance of environmental protection and the role of individual actions in creating a sustainable future.

“Climate change is real, and the impact is huge. Everyone needs to play a bigger role in creating a greener environment,” said Michelle, Principal of Kinderland Preschool @ Ministry of Manpower.

Kinderland Academy @ Yio Chu Kang organised a Nature Scavenger Hunt, where children explored the campus to find native flora and fauna. This activity allowed teachers to introduce them to various plant species, explain their roles within ecosystems, and emphasise their overall significance in preserving our planet.

Though Earth Day is commemorated annually, the essence of environmental stewardship must be woven into our daily lives throughout the year. By exemplifying eco-conscious habits such as conserving energy, recycling, and supporting community initiatives, we can inspire our children to take ownership of our planet’s well-being and become fervent ambassadors for a sustainable future.
