On 7th August 2018, children from Kinderland Preschool, Ministry of Education (MOE) were invited to be part of the annual MOE National Day Observance Ceremony (NDOC). The event was graced by Guest of Honour, Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister of Education (Higher Education and Skills), Ms Indranee Rajah, Second Minister for Finance & Education, Ms Low Yen Ling, Mayor of South West District, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC (Bukit Gombak), and Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education, and Ministry of Social and Family Development.

The Kinderland children presented a song and dance item titled “Our Community”, which is a combination of two Kinderland theme songs. The children were dressed in ethnic clothing representative of Singapore’s multi-cultural diversity as well as community helpers such as firefighters, policemen and more. The song and dance depicted a sense of togetherness, belonging and the importance of the different roles that people play in a community.

Together with students from other educational institutions, all 25 of our K2 children participated in the performance this year. The finale performance ended with the children singing a medley of National Day songs with gusto!
