Crestar Education Group (Crestar) has been awarded the Singapore HEALTH Award 2019, under the Healthy Pre-school (Platinum) category. This is in recognition of the group’s sustained efforts in championing health promotion initiatives for the wellbeing of the students.
This is the inaugural year that the Health Promotion Board (HPB) presented the Healthy Pre-school (Platinum) Award. It encourages preschools to help their students adopt healthier habits during their formative years. To be considered, candidates need to be recognised under the Healthy Pre-school (Platinum) category consecutively for three cycles. Three preschools under Crestar have been accredited by HPB in 2015, 2016 and 2018 – Kinderland at the Ministry of Manpower, NurtureStars @ SAFRA Mount Faber and NurtureStars @ SAFRA Toa Payoh.
Singapore HEALTH Award 2019’s theme of Sustainability of Health aims to highlight the importance of sustaining efforts in creating healthy living environments. I t focuses on bringing healthy living practices and programmes closer to individuals and communities. This year, the Singapore HEALTH Award celebrated the commendable achievements of health-promoting partners across three outreach settings – preschools, workplaces and the community.
Crestar’s sustained efforts in championing health promotion initiatives for the wellbeing of their students have led to the attainment of the award. It is achieved through sustained efforts in providing a supportive environment to ensure preschoolers have access to healthy meals and an active lifestyle in school daily. Targeted interventions initiatives were implemented for parents, teachers and staff to help students maintain a healthy weight and capacity-building .
As part of the efforts, Kinderland acts as a champion to sustain this collective effort to nurture healthy, happy students as they benefit from the exchange of learning across health promotion contexts.
