Kinderland Preschool @ Ministry of Manpower (MOM) was invited to be part of the annual MOM National Day Observance Ceremony 2018. The event was held at the NTUC Auditorium and was graced by Guest of Honour, Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of Manpower, Ms Mary Liew, President of NTUC and Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng.
27 children from Kindergarten One and Two participated in this year’s performance. The Kindergarten One children sang and danced to the popular national day song, “One People, One Nation, One Singapore” while the Kindergarten Two children put up a skit titled “An Inclusive Society” to promote inclusiveness in our community. The skit served as an important reminder of simple things we could all do to bring about improvements in our society. The story featured a grandfather who took his grandchildren on a train ride and observed the self-centered behavior of some commuters. The grandfather reflected on how people would previously put others before themselves and cared more for the others who were in need. The skit brought across the message of kindness and graciousness towards others in the society. The children and teachers also joined the staff of Central Provident Fund to sing a medley of national songs.
After the whole performance, the Kinderland children presented a national day themed painting which they had created together, as a token of appreciation to Mrs Josephine Teo. The Minister and guests spontaneously took a group photograph with the children to mark the meaningful occasion.
