The spirit of friendly competition comes alive on Kinderland’s Sports Fiesta, where more than 1,000 parents, alumni and children participated in a wide range of exciting relay games.
We were honoured to have Mr Lai Chin Kwang (Chief, ActiveSG, Sport Singapore) as our Guest-of-Honour who officiated the event held on 15 October 2016.
“Kudos to Kinderland for organising such an important and significant event for our children who are the pioneer generation of SG100. Through sports, they will become rugged, resilient and learn to be team players.” said Mr Lai Chin Kwang, Chief, Active SG, Sport Singapore.
He also added “I sincerely urge everyone to continue this strong support for our SG100 generation to remain healthy, fit and continue to build the success of our country for many years to come.”
The event began with a captivating performance by Singapore’s first preschool marching band, where 91 children from Kinderland Yio Chu Kang demonstrated different formations while playing to popular tunes such as Long De Chuan Ren (龙的传人) and Rookies Theme. They played various instruments such as the glockenspiels, pianicas, electronic keyboards, snare and bass drums.
This year’s event was special as we had our little toddlers joining us for the first time with their families in the ‘Hokey Pokey’ and ‘Go Go Go’ relay section.
Everyone’s a winner at Kinderland with each child receiving a medal for their efforts.
Families who play together, stay together!
In addition to forging stronger family bonds through active parents participation, children learned the importance of healthy and active living, in line with our Kinderfit objectives.
