What do you get when you mix ripe bananas, wholesome oats, and curious little hands? A delightful afternoon of learning, laughter, and a cake that is as healthy as it is delicious.

Kinderland child and father share meaningful bonding time during a hands-on baking session

Led by our in-house nutritionist, Ms. Zolynne Tan, the Healthy Baking Workshop on 28 June 2025 was more than just a cooking session.  It was a fun, hands-on introduction to family nutrition. Thoughtfully designed for both parents and children, the workshop combined interactive baking activities with simple, practical lessons on healthy eating.

A fun and engaging baking session led by our in-house nutritionist, Ms. Zolynne Tan

From the start, families rolled up their sleeves and got to work transforming everyday ingredients into something special. The star of the session? Our Monkey Magic Cake—a moist, naturally sweet treat powered by bananas and oats.

Smiles all around as children and parents bond through this fun and engaging baking session.

Instead of refined sugar, bananas were used to add natural sweetness—along with a healthy dose of potassium, fiber, and vitamin B6. Oats replaced white flour, offering a higher-fiber alternative that supports digestion and helps maintain stable energy levels—perfect for little tummies.

Introducing the wholesome ingredients that make our baking session both tasty and healthy

But the experience went beyond following a recipe. Ms. Tan shared practical tips for choosing healthier ingredients when cooking or baking at home.  She showed how simple swaps—like using fruits and whole grains—can make a meaningful difference to a family’s overall wellbeing. These ideas were brought to life through stories, easy-to-follow demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on fun. These helped to educate not just the parents, but also the little ones, on the importance of mindful eating.

A big thank you to Ms. Zolynne Tan (Left) for guiding our little chefs and their families through a fun and meaningful baking session

The workshop ended on a high note—with happy children, proud parents, and cakes decorated with creativity (and plenty of love). Many families shared how inspired they felt to recreate the recipe at home, and some were already looking forward to our next healthy baking adventure.

To keep the excitement  going, we are excited to share the recipe so you can experience the magic in your own kitchen.
