Dr Carol Loy, Director, Professional Development and Curriculum, also shared recent progress in Kinderland’s curriculum and professional development.

Through educational trips to Japan, Italy and America, our staff learned the latest approaches in early childhood education. We implemented methodologies such as STREAM, the idea of educating children in Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. With music being at the heart of Kinderland’s curriculum, we will soon be forming instrumental stage ensemble in our centres locally and overseas.

Our overseas guest speakers, Ms Beth C. Fredericks (Executive Director of Wheelock College Singapore) and Ms Zhong Xiao Feng (Director of Parent Relations and Communications, ELFA Preschool China) shared their professional insights and experiences in early childhood education.

Ms Fredericks shared a very engaging session on STEM which got all the teachers on their feet for the hands-on activity. Our chinese teachers also benefitted from Ms Zhong’s interactive sharing on effective communication with parents.

A highlight of the event was the award ceremony where 50 awards were presented to our principals, teachers and staff. The awards were for the recognition of their dedicated effort in upholding quality and service excellence.

Before the day ended, our principals, teachers and staff let their hair down and had great fun at the bonding games. They took up roles as fashion designers, models and staged an entertaining Kinderland fashion show. Everyone had a good laugh during the treasure hunt, trying their best to find the ‘treasures’ including a men’s shoe. The day ended on a high note, with new things learned and relationships strengthened.
