Kinderland opens OCTOBURST! Festival with a blast

Kinderland Preschool Marching Band celebrates children’s day with a big bang!

Octoburst! opened to great fanfare this year with Singapore’s one and only Kinderland Preschool Marching Band. The band played well-loved songs from Oliver and Doraemon, delighting spectators in a musical celebration of Children’s Day.

Music is a cornerstone of Kinderland’s curriculum, as evidenced by the successful Children’s Music Programme.

When the Kinderland Preschool Marching Band was formed in 2010, it was completely unheard of outside Japan. However, the band proved to be a success and even saw the addition of the Stage Ensemble in 2017. Today, it remains Singapore’s first and only preschool marching band.

It is with much honour and excitement for our children to return to physical performance.

Hands-on exposure to music has always played a crucial role in the development of every Kinderland child. The unique experience of being a part of the band allows children to develop discipline and teamwork. It also reinforces their musical knowledge and motor skills, enabling healthy, well-rounded growth.

Relive Your Childhood Memories: Children’s Day online contest

This Children’s Day, we wanted to inspire parents to revisit their favourite childhood memories and rediscover the joy of childhood. We hope to encourage parents to reenact these childhood memories, reminding children that they are wonderful and loved.

In celebration of children’s day, parents shared stories about what they missed most about being a child and more!

Out of many heartwarming sharing, we selected 10 parent submission that brought big smiles to our faces. We are heartened to see these spotlighted memories now shared with the parents and our Kinderland children.

The fun does not stop there! We also brought the celebration to life at our centres. Kinderland Academy @ Yio Chu Kang held a Children’s Day Carnival this October. The Kindergarten Two children took turns to tend to and enjoy makeshift stalls with fishing, bowling and cup stacking games. Children from Pre-Nursery levels to Kindergarten One redeem their turn with carnival coupons. The children managing the stall learn about the works behind entrepreneurship.

At Kinderland Preschool @ Ministry of Manpower, we take the celebration outdoors! Our children celebrated Children’s Day last Friday with a Sports Day at Hong Lim Park! All children from 18 months to 6 years old sweated it out over various outdoor games. They participated in relay games which helped enhance the preschoolers’ sportsmanship and teamwork.

The sale of these Children’s Day coupons raised $1,055. With a top-up, we purchased daily essentials for the seniors at Econ Healthcare (Nursing Home & Day Care).
