“This moment is not about me, it’s really for my country, it’s all about my coaches, my family, my friends who believed from when I was a six-year-old kid, that I could do it.” – Joseph Schooling, Olympic Games Rio 2016 Gold medallist in Men’s 100m butterfly.

Major congratulations to our student alumni Joseph Schooling for winning Singapore’s first gold medal at the Olympic Games Rio 2016! It is heartening to see one of our alumni achieving his dreams, and fulfilling our belief that every Kinderland child should be equipped to be a lifelong achiever, in addition to being prepared for formal schooling.

Joseph Schooling with his classmates in 1999

Joseph Schooling joined Kinderland Marine Parade in 1999 and graduated in 2001. His nursery and kindergarten teachers remembered him to be a polite and always smiling child.

Kinderland Marine Parade is the Kinderland Group’s first preschool and it was set up in 1978. Since then, more than 7,000 children have graduated from this centre. 38 years and counting, over 100,000 children have graduated from Kinderland preschools in Singapore and across the region.

From the Kinderland family, congratulations once again to Joseph Schooling, on this global feat!
